Goodbyes are so hard. Cena died last night. He was such a great kitty. I wish I had gotten pictures of his ears sticking up over the gate where he waited for me when he heard me come home. He fought such a great fight. He was doing so well after his "stroke" or whatever happened last year.
We took him to the vet last night and she thinks a blood clot burst. She also thinks it had something to do with what happened last year, a bad heart, a stroke, and it happened again only worse this time. Organs had started shutting down, his extremities were cold, his heartbeat irregular, and he had a low temperature. She made him comfortable by emptying his bladder for him and giving him pain meds. We brought him home to say our goodbyes. We cuddled with him, and laid down with him. He was purring and content. He drifted off peacefully. He is now resting in the yard with the other animals that have gone on. Cena, we love you and miss you.
